Diagnosed with an aggressive form of breast cancer in the middle of a pandemic, a woman from Lee's Summit knew she was in the fight of her life. But she had no idea what was coming next.

While being treated for stage 3 breast cancer, Jesse Eiskina, 27, was diagnosed with heart damage. About 25% of all cancer patients suffer damage to the heart muscle from their cancer treatments.

KMBC talked to Dr. Deepthi Vodnala, cardiologist and co-medical director of Saint Luke's Cardio-Oncology Program, about what cancer patients should know when it comes to their hearts.
