NBC Nightly News: Doctors turn to telemedicine for routine visits as hospitals face coronavirus crisis

Virtual visits, or telemedicine, are becoming much more common across the U.S. as patients stay home amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Saint Luke's Mid America Heart Institute has seen a big increase in virtual visits with more than 5,000 over the past month up from about 20 the month before.

NBC Nightly News talked to Dr. Michael Main, Dr. Iain McGhie, and Dr. Bethany Austin about how they are utilizing the technology to deliver the best patient care.
