Job Description​

The Application Architect is an expert in Interoperability including integration points of multiple Epic applications and Health Information Exchange vendors.   The Application Architect position will also play a key role in Population Health projects, initiatives and leadership committees.   This position should have the ability to determine criticality of issues and necessity to escalate as a business impacting event.   Additionally, this person will oversee and/or assist with initial setup and/or upgrades, configuration and installation of hardware or software for complex projects relating to Interoperability applications.   This role will be able to independently design and develop complex documentation for a large product area. Known as an SME for HIE technology tools, products and/or processes.   Demonstrates thorough knowledge and utilization of Process Improvement and Change Management. This role should have the skills need to continue to maintain and grow expert knowledge of software, integration, end-user workflow and industry trends.  Performs effectively in a team environment and establishes positive relationships with vendors, peers, and customers. 

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree and 2+ years' experience in Healthcare IT or 15 years' experience in Healthcare IT in lieu of degree required

2+ Application Certifications (or, if not available, equivalent expert knowledge of two or more primary applications) : EpicCare Link, Care EveryWhere, EpicCare Ambulatory

• Maintains expertise in test script execution and validation process​.
• Assesses project issues and develops resolutions and/or mitigation plans to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals ​.
• Handles high impact, critical tickets/incidents that have not been resolved. Determines criticality of issues and necessity to escalate as a business impacting event​.
• Leads Application End User groups​.
• Consults with end users and stakeholders on complex current state workflows, upgrades, system changes/enhancements and ongoing system maintenance​.
• Interprets and researches internal and/or external business issues and recommends best practices​.
• Leads implementation, installation, calibration, testing, troubleshooting, documentation and, when needed, end-user training.
• Assists in obtaining acceptance of system testing.
• Assists Project Manager and Executive Stakeholders in development of business case and cost benefit analysis.
• Identifies and documents user requirements into functional specifications for system design and program specification.
• Leads others to solve complex problems using sophisticated analytical thoughts to exercise judgement and identify innovative solutions.
• Actively transfers knowledge with team members.
• Communicates difficult concepts and negotiates with others to adopt a different point of view​.
• Mentors others in application knowledge and troubleshooting skills​.
• Self-directed; takes initiative and manages deadlines.
• Identifies opportunities for automation of team’s work.
