Job Description​

The Clinical Informatics Specialist integrates nursing science, computer science and information science to manage and process clinical data, information and knowledge to facilitate the delivery of health care. The Clinical Informatics Specialist role will be primarily focused on clinical informatics projects and Epic optimizations, following a consistent methodology of workflow analysis and validation while ensuring nursing practice standards, regulations, privacy and policy are considered. The Clinical Informatics Specialist will serve as a liaison for clinical staff across various patient care departments while working collaboratively with department managers and technical experts.

This position includes the following, but is not limited to:

  • Traveling to various SLHS locations

  • Interacting with our EMR, computer software, clinical technology and databases

  • Working autonomously and problem solving

  • Managing multiple projects simultaneously

  • Leading optimization meetings and presenting to various stakeholders

  • Interacting with a multidisciplinary team including hospital leaders, providers, analysts, program managers, clinicians, peers, etc...

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree Nursing (BSN)

KS/MO RN License as appropriate

Experience 3-5 years in informatics or related field

Preferred Qualifications:

Informatics Certification (ANCC)

Master's degree in Nursing or related field
