Registered Dietician I  

Saint Luke’s Hospital – Plaza Location  

Fulltime Position – Day Shift 

 

The Opportunity:  

Saint Luke’s Hospital, on the Plaza, is seeking a Registered Dietitian to join our team. The Registered Dietitian is the nutrition professional that develops and oversees the implementation of nutrition interventions/prescriptions for patients' nutrition diagnosis. You will be responsible for coordinating the plan of care/interventions and consulting with other members of the health care team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.  Our priority is patient care in that we interact with patients daily and have the opportunity to bring something positive to their day to ensure Saint Luke’s is “The Best Place To Get Care, The Best Place To Give Care.”

The Work:     

  • Demonstrates Proficiency in Standards of Practice (Nutrition Assessment, Nutrition Diagnosis, Nutrition Intervention/Plan of Care and Nutrition Monitoring and Evaluation.   

  • Demonstrates Proficiency in Standards of Professional Performance (Quality In Practice, Competency/Accountability, Provisions of Services, Application of Research, Communication and Applications of Knowledge and Utilization and Management of Resources). 

  • Uses Nutrition Care Process (NCP) ADIME-assessment, diagnosis, intervention, monitoring and evaluation for patient's nutritional assessment. 

  • Performs Nutrition Focused Physical Exam (NFPE) and documenting clinical criteria to demonstrate patients with malnutrition. 

  • Collaborates with other members of the healthcare team regarding patients nutrition plan of care. 

  • Completes yearly department competency and other performance improvement projects as assigned. 

  • Uses Evidence Based Practice in patient care. 

  • Serves as a preceptor to dietetic interns.  

Accountable for using Nutrition Care Process (NCP, ADIME-assessment, diagnosis, intervention, monitoring and evaluation). Within the organizational structure of clinical nutrition, the RD functions independently and is a resource contributing to the professional development of clinical staff and /or students at the patient care level. Demonstrates initiative to promote change in the department recognizing opportunities for improvement. Participates in performance improvement activities. The RD demonstrates competency in the Standards of Practice and Standards of Professional of Performance. RD meets CAP Level II requirements.
