Job Description​

The Opportunity:

 

Saint Luke’s Physician Group in Kansas City, MO is seeking an experienced Chief Operating Officer, with knowledge of medical practice management in the large group/academic setting. You will provide overall leadership for SLPG operations, ensuring that providers and practice sites have the focused facilities, operating support and systems, information technology, and resources to achieve efficient and effective care delivery. This key leadership role will ensure that practice facility size and staffing are appropriate to the scope of patient services provided and maintained in a manner that will achieve Saint Luke’s Health System  goals and mission.  

 

The Work:

  • Achieves high performing physician practice operations founded upon a unified, integrated philosophy of patient care

  • Oversees the integration of new physician practices into the organizational structure to meet SLHS growth objectives

  • Facilitates the effective adoption of information technologies to ensure safe and effective patient care processes

  • Effectively manages the overall cost structure of SLPG through the development of effective support management functions

  • Creates efficiencies in systems and process through utilization of performance improvements and portfolio management methodologies

  • Demonstrated experience in Strategic Planning and Portfolio Management. Understanding of Physician Practice law and Stark laws

  • Understanding and use of CQ/Lean/CAPFL principles

  • Knowledge of the  dynamics of physician and hospital organizations

  

5+ years of substantial progressive leadership and management experience in health care administration, preferably in a multi-specialty group practice with multi-site responsibility.

5+ years of significant ambulatory experience/physician management experience required.

Master’s Degree required.

This is an opportunity that requires the ability to interact with all levels of management. To be successful in this role, you will need to be effective at working within a complex environment, applying your diverse knowledge in order to create and implement processes. The ideal candidate will be able to work in a team atmosphere as well as autonomously. We are seeking individuals who have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handling multiple priorities, while working under tight deadlines.
