The Opportunity:
Saint Luke’s Hospital of Kansas City located in Kansas City, MO is looking for a Registered Nurse for their Cardiac Transplant PCU team. This unit is part of our nationally recognized cardiac care and transplant teams; which are currently ranked amongst the top 25 performers for Cardiology and Heart Surgery in the United States by U.S. News and World Report. Saint Luke’s Hospital of Kansas City is a Level I Trauma Center who has been Magnet Designated since 2004.
This position provides patient care to patients 24-48 hours following Heart Transplants, Liver Transplants, and LVADS. This is a high acuity fast-paced cardiac focused unit with highly trained staff that provide skilled care to acutely ill patients while maintaining a culture of kindness and building long term relationships with patients. This position allows for additional training in various areas due to the various conditions and treatment plans on this unit. This nurse position will work with LVADS, Ultrafiltration, Chest Tubes, Drains, Trachs, Remodulin medication and much more.
This is a great opportunity if you enjoy building relationships with patients and their loved ones. This position is responsible for providing patient education for post hospital stay care to help patients improve their health outside of the hospital.
Shift Details: 6:45 pm to 7:15 am
The Work:
Functions independently and accountable for utilizing the nursing process.
Coordinates the care for a group of patients with the Multidisciplinary Team.
Delegates tasks appropriately.
Identifies hospital resources.
Serves as a clinical resource for new employees.
Demonstrates positive formal or informal leadership within unit or department.
