Job Description
Responsible for the implementation, expansion, and on-going management of the research informatics applications at Saint Luke’s Health System, including biostatistics, data science, clinical research data management, internal and the overall data warehousing. Leads development of a formal research bioinformatics strategy that will align with the overall Research Strategic Plan. Develops standards including standard operating procedures, for the analytical and data management teams in clinical research. Responsible for recruiting and retaining best talent to the bioinformatics and data science teams as well as providing mentorship, technical direction and strategic guidance to the bioinformatics and data science team members. Secures extramural funding with an overarching aim of securing a sustainable program. Works closely and collaboratively with IT and Enterprise Analytics to ensure data security and integrity and efficient use of resources and systems for research data analytics and management.
Oversee the implementation, expansion, and on-going management of the research informatics applications, including biostatistics, data science, clinical research data management, internal and the overall data warehousing
Lead the development of a formal research bioinformatics strategy that will align with the overall Research Strategic Plan
Enable IT and bioinformatic advances in clinical trial capabilities, including both trial recruitment and methodological approaches
Development of standards for the analytical and data management teams in clinical research
Build on existing intra-institutional collaborations, develop an enterprise-level strategy for applied informatics that embraces the continuum from population-level care to personalized medicine
Obtain funding streams for bioinformatics support through internal and external grant opportunities, with an aim to build a sustainable program
Lead efforts to recruit and retain best talent to the bioinformatics and data science teams
Provide mentoring, technical direction and strategic guidance to the bioinformatics and data science team members with an emphasis on quality and alignment with the users of these services
Work closely and collaboratively with counterparts in IT to ensure data security and integrity of the systems developed and supported by Research bioinformatics
Collaborate with counterparts in Enterprise Analytics to maximize effective and efficient use of resources and ensure divisions are working with well-aligned purposes
