Job Description

Saint Luke’s Health System is seeking a Development Director to support Saint Luke’s East Hospital’s philanthropic efforts. Saint Luke’s Foundation partners with corporations, foundations and individuals to fund innovative health care solutions through charitable gifts for clinical research, education, new technology and the pursuit of excellence in patient care.  You will be responsible for identifying, cultivating, and soliciting donors for philanthropic programs.  Your expertise in building and maintaining relationships will allow you to successfully build out our organization’s foundation resources.

You will experience autonomy and flexibility in your role and have opportunities for growth, while having the resources and support of the Health System. Join us in our vision of being, “The Best Place to Get Care. The Best Place to Give Care.”

This position has a flexible schedule and environment.  Since you will be supporting Saint Luke’s East, you will work out of that location but will also be able to spend time out working in the community.

The Work:

·         Identifies potential donors and prospects

·         Cultivates and motivates donors to make major gifts to the provider organization’s foundation

·         Participate in special events

·         Acknowledges gifts and donations, develops effective working relationships with donors, volunteers, and others to nurture their connection to the organization

·         Prepare and submit application and proposals for the foundation and granting organizations

We are seeking someone who possesses experience in cultivating and motivating donors in a philanthropic setting.  Healthcare experience is not required but would be helpful in the role. To be successful in this role, you will need to be able to work in a team atmosphere as well as autonomously.  Philanthropy is at the heart of how we create innovations and provide medical care where we deliver it.  Being a part of this team allows you to support clinical practitioners in doing their work by managing our philanthropic efforts.
