Job Description​

The Lead Medical Staff Coordinator assists the Director of Medical Staff Services on entity specific Medical Staff Services' daily operations. The position works collaboratively with Credentialing Specialist(s) , Director of Medical Staff Services, and VPMA, for standardization and performance improvements to efficiency and productivity utilizing best practices related to medical staff and allied health professional credentialing and privileging for appointment and reappointment.  The Lead plans, develops, organizes the medical staff office to contribute to meeting the mission and goals of the hospital and to meet the requirements of the medical staff bylaws, TJC standards, and other applicable federal, state, and local regulatory and or accrediting agencies. Responsible for following credentialing procedures to ensure all Medical Staff and Allied Health Professionals are adequately and accurately credentialed and privileged.  The Lead is responsible for assisting with department training, and projects, coordinates Medical Staff Medical Executive Committee meetings, takes minutes, and attends to other needs of the Medical Staff as appropriate.
Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CSPS) or be certified within 2 years.
