Job Description
Saint Luke’s Health System is seeking a Chief Nursing Officer. The CNO is the clinical leader for the entity and sets the vision for nursing and allied health practice at the Saint Luke's East Hospital, of the South East Region, for the delivery of safe, timely, efficient, equitable and patient centered care. The CNO uses a core set of competencies including communication and relationship management, knowledge of the health care environment, leadership, professionalism, business skills and principles to work within a collaborative and inter professional model to influence improvement of the patient experience including quality outcomes and patient satisfaction. The CNO represents Hospital Administration, Nursing, and Ancillary Departments to the Boards of Directors, Medical Staffs, Hospital Committees and the communities of each entity.
Responsibilities & Core Competencies
The CNO position reports directly to the entity COO and has a matrixed relationship to the SVP Chief Nursing Executive of SLHS
As a member of the SLHS CNO Council, the incumbent is the clinical leader for the entities and in collaboration with the CNO Council sets the vision for nursing and allied health practice for the delivery of safe, timely, efficient, equitable and patient centered care
Oversight and accountability for all clinical nursing departments, respiratory therapy and other departments as defined
Change agent who incorporates and encourages an ongoing practice of innovation, develops a sustainable culture of innovation, and translates innovation into operations
Continuous learner who integrates clinical knowledge, industry best practice and market dynamics into clinical and operational practice
Steward of resources who continuously looks for opportunities to optimize the delivery of care in an efficient and productive manner while maintaining the patient experience
Fosters collaboration and communication, integrating perspectives from nursing, allied health, ancillary departments, physician leaders and others to achieve desired results
