The Opportunity:  

Saint Luke’s South Hospital, located in Overland Park, KS, is seeking an Inpatient Pharmacy Intern to join our team. You will assist with filling automated dispensing cabinets and delivering medications to various units within the hospital. You will have the opportunity to perform IV Sterile Compounding, Unit Dose Packaging, Fill First Doses and assist with Medical Storage. This is a customer facing position that offers variety in your work and allows you to support various hospital staff members and process requests. 

This exciting role will provide you with the opportunity to advance your skills in our clinical student intern program. 

The Work: 

Works closely with Pharmacist to develop clinical skills, patient counseling, drug education, and specialty projects 

Pick, fill and deliver medication orders and Omnicell stock to appropriate locations 

Fill first doses for new orders for patients 

Prepack drugs and compound medications including sterile products, chemotherapy, and special dosage forms (topicals, oral liquids, etc.) 

Assist with maintaining stock supplies in pharmacy department as needed 

Complete projects as needed that improve service and/or safety 

We are seeking a patient focused, detail oriented, professional with a passion for healthcare. To be successful, you must enjoy working with an engaged team, completing challenging work. This position will require you to work on your feet most of your shift and work autonomously. Pharmacy Tech experience is preferred, but not required.
