The Opportunity:
Saint Luke’s East in Lee’s Summit is seeking a Registered Nurse for our Medical ICU Unit. You will have the opportunity to provide care to variety of conditions, acuity levels, and treatment plans. Our team cares for patients who are intubated, on Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT), Swan Ganz or pulmonary artery catheters, intra-aortic balloon pump (IABP), post-code targeted temperature management, bladder pressure monitoring, and arterial line monitoring.
Our MICU Unit is a fast-paced changing environment that includes quickly changing patients and rapid responses. This unit is supported by our eICU team that provides you with a team of virtual critical care physicians who are constantly monitoring the patients and their monitors. They are able to put in orders to ensure you have quick physician support when you need it. Working on this unit will allow you to work with leaders in patient care and provide you the tools you need to grow your career.
Shift Details : Part Time Day - Sat -Sun
The Work:
Utilizes the nursing process
Performs patient care, delegates patient care tasks, and supervises patient care staff
Coordinates the plan of care for a group of assigned patients and consults with other members of the health care team when indicated to ensure optimal patient outcomes
Demonstrates proficiency and abides by policies rules guidelines and procedures
Completes thorough assessments, performs medication administration, develops a holistic plan of care, drain management, post-procedural or post-operative management
Expected to complete tasks timely, including charting, making patient care the number one priority in a teamwork setting and having excellent communication skills and a compassionate heart
