Job Description​

This position is responsible for implementation of all elements of the Ethics, Compliance, Privacy program at assigned entities, including: event reporting (conducting and reporting on investigations and resolutions); monitoring and auditing (tracking external auditing activities; completing periodic proactive audits in clinical and non-clinical departments to assess for compliance with HIPAA Privacy rules); education and training. 


Position is also responsible for chairing entity Ethics & Compliance Committees, participating in other program committees and subcommittees as designated,  reporting activities to System Ethics and Compliance Committee, System Privacy Committee and the Boards of Directors on a regular basis.

Investigate and resolve event activity, including performing or overseeing mitigation and remediation efforts;
Maintain database of external event activity and monitor data for trending;
Analyze program activity at entities assigned and prepare regular reporting to the entity leadership (including biannual report to the Board of Directions);
Chair Ethics & Compliance Committees at entities assigned;
Formulate, revise, interpret and implement program policies and procedures; 
Oversee and deliver appropriate education and training programs to workforce members;
Participate in compliance billing committees;
Collaborate with revenue cycle partners and related operational departments to resolve potential overpayment events;
Participate in preparation and execution of annual risk assessment process and assist in completion of work plan activities;
Miscellaneous compliance generalist 

Strategic thinker and relationship-oriented leader;
Critical-thinking skills needed to navigate myriad of issues impacting a multi-faceted health system;
Strong knowledge of Medicaid /Medicare regulations and CMS guidelines combined with an ability to contemplate critically how those impact an organization’s operations;
Excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills that convey proficiency, professionalism and respect;
Strong organization and analytical skills that will be essential in advising and coordinating internal investigations and external communications as needed;
Ability to communicate and educate employees of all levels in a manner that encourages and supports the health system's commitment to compliance (communication that is transparent and customer focused);
Skilled at working with other department leaders to foster teamwork and achieve shared goals;
Effective listener to be able to successfully understand the information presented;
Ability to collaborate with program team members in ways that help build a positive environment
