Saint Luke’s Cardiovascular Consultant’s is seeking an experienced physician investigator to serve as Director of Cardiovascular Research. The Director of Cardiovascular Research will have a strong history of external funding and possess the ability to develop and sustain ongoing collaborative relationships with research leadership throughout the department and the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine. In addition, the Director of Cardiovascular Research will establish and sustain an externally funded individual research program consistent with the Division and School of Medicine’s vision, assist in recruitment, serve as a mentor, participate in national meetings, and enhance cardiology research opportunities.
The ideal candidate will possess the following:
Clinical outcomes, health status outcomes, health economics. Observational and/or epidemiologic focus is ideal. Qualitative research and implementation scientists would also fit well. Clinical trialists are okay if sufficient experience with observational research.
Qualification: MD, PhD, PharmD, ScD
Career level: ≥5 years post fellowship or full professor
