Job Description​

Saint Luke’s Advanced Care and Home Infusion Pharmacy, a rapidly growing URAC-accredited specialty pharmacy, has a career opportunity for a highly qualified Director of Pharmacy.  This is a full-time position located in Kansas City, Missouri.

The Advanced Care and Infusion Pharmacy is available for patients with specialty disease states such as oncology, hepatitis C, rheumatoid arthritis, and those needing home infusion services. The Pharmacy is part of Saint Luke’s Health System and the Director is a member of both the health system pharmacy leadership team and the home care and hospice leadership team.

The Director of Pharmacy has operational responsibility for the coordination and delivery of pharmacy services and oversees both the specialty pharmacy and home infusion pharmacy business lines.  Core duties of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Overseeing the specialty pharmacy and home infusion pharmacy business lines.
  • Business development and financial accountability, including growing the Home Infusion program
  • Implementing new clinical programs.
  • Managing all pharmacy staff to include hiring, training, mentoring, and evaluating competencies and job performance.
  • Maintaining URAC accreditation.
  • Monitoring compliance and quality of care issues and addressing and resolving escalated patient and provider issues.
  • Ensuring that all staff are compliant with legal, regulatory, and policy requirements.
  • Leading and/or participating in special projects and initiatives.

Eligible candidates for this position must meet the following requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Basic Life Support - American Heart Association or Red Cross
  • Licensed Pharmacist (KS) - Kansas Board of Pharmacy
  • Licensed Pharmacist (MO) - Missouri Division of Professional Registration
  • Medication Therapy Services - Missouri Division of Professional Registration
  • Minimum of 2 years Pharmacist experience, experience in Specialty Pharmacy preferred
  • Prior management experience (preferred)
