Job Description
The Director of Planning for Saint Luke's Health System is responsible for leading the planning team in the development of strategic plans at various levels of the organization. Specific plan development includes, but is not limited to, the Health System Strategic Plan, Clinical Service Line Plans, Regional Operational Plans, and Programmatic/Department-Level Plans.
Skills and responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:
Deep understanding of strategic planning processes, from current state assessments through priority, tactic, and measurement development
Deep understanding of market data and appropriate data sources/analyses to inform plan development
People leadership experience
Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple planning initiatives at once
Ability to build collaborative relationships with team members including but not limited to: the medical staff, nursing and other clinical areas, administration, and operational/support services to develop plans
"Big Picture Thinking," with the ability to translate strategy into executable, operational tactics
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to various audiences, including top-level executives of the organization
Proactively seek guidance, clarification and feedback from various leaders as appropriate
The selected candidate will report to the Vice President of Transformation & Strategic Planning. In addition to the primary responsibility of plan development, the Director of Planning will help support 'strategic execution' - tracking and measuring the implementation of plan initiatives in partnership with operational leaders and/or supporting leaders in revising tactical plans as needed to effectively meet the organization's strategic goals.
This role is eligible for a hybrid of remote and in-person work.
Job Requirements
Minimum years of experience: 5 years
Leadership (management) experience preferred
Master’s Degree (Required)
Preferred Degree:
Master of Healthcare Administration (MHA)
Master of Business Administration (MBA)
