The Opportunity:

Saint Luke’s Hospital of Kansas City is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our Neuroscience ICU team. As an RN on this team, you will have the opportunity to work with various neurological specialties such as: Head Injuries, Brain Aneurysms, Ischemic and Hemorrhagic Strokes, and Complex Neurosurgical patients within a health system that is nationally recognized. We are a Magnet Designated, Level 1 Trauma Center and a top Comprehensive Stroke Center, performing at the leading edge of stroke care. You will be supported by a comprehensive multi-disciplinary support team available 24/7.

Shift Details - 7pm - 7am

The Work:

• Provides professional nursing care for patients following established standards and practices
• Conducts a high volume of  in-depth neurological assessments to recognize early changes in a patients Neuro exam
• Perform specialized interventions, such as ventilator management,  intracranial pressure and drain monitoring, arterial lines, lumbar drains, CRRT, and seizure monitoring
• Responsible for coordinating the plan of care for a group of assigned patients and consulting with other members of the health care team when indicated to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Educate patients and families who are dealing with a potential life-changing event

We are seeking Neuro ICU Registered Nurses who possess strong critical thinking, multi-tasking, and troubleshooting skills. To be successful in this role, you will need to be able to work in a team atmosphere as well as autonomously.  We are seeking patient centered, self-driven, motivated nurses who are committed to providing exceptional patient care. The ideal candidate will be someone who makes the patient experience a top priority and enjoys participating in continuous improvement initiatives to make a team stronger.

Applicable Experience:

2 years

Advanced Cardiac Life Support - American Heart Association or Red Cross, Registered Nurse (MO) - National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NURSYS), Trauma Nurse Core Course - Emergency Nurse Association

Bachelor's Degree - Nursing
