Lab Competency Training and Engagement Coordinator

Job Description​

The Laboratory Competency, Training and Engagement Coordinator will report to the Manager, Laboratory Quality Assurance and Compliance position, with matrix reporting to the SLHS Laboratory Director, and will coordinate competency and training activities for laboratory positions. The individual in this position will also coordinate staff engagement goals and action plans in accordance with Saint Luke's Health System directives each year. These position activities will assist Lab Managers with education/training consistency and organization, and enhance staff engagement and retention.

  • Coordinates competency, onboarding and training programs for applicable laboratory positions in compliance with accreditation standards and in collaboration with Lab Managers/designees.

  • Assists managers with ensuring documentation of personnel qualifications are collected during new hire onboarding process and align with regulatory standards for position.

  • Implements and maintains a continuing education program for lab employees and distributes and documents CEUs. 

  • Facilitates employee engagement and improved communication.   Develops goals and action plans for employee engagement.  

  • Supports employees with career ladder advancement opportunities and submissions.

  • Leads System education relating to laboratory changes, within and outside of the Laboratory. 

  • Collaborates with Nursing and serves as subject matter expert in policy development and education related to laboratory specimen collection and procedures.
