Medical Surgical Registered Nurse - Inpatient Surgery Recovery Unit - PRN Day

Job Description​

This Medical Surgical unit provides care to inpatient post-surgical patients recovering from various procedures including, but not limited to; orthopedic, head, neck, spine, bariatric and general surgery procedures. This inpatient recovery unit is a clean unit. Nurses In this position, your day-to-day can be routine, but fast paced. There is a constant flow of admissions and discharges each day. If you need consistency in your work, this is a great opportunity for you.

This is a team who is very patient focused and possess strong team work, flexibility and willingness to go above any beyond for each other to ensure exceptional patient care and patient outcomes. This is a team that does what is right for the patient and works together for the common goal. Being a strong team player is a must for this unit.

In this role, you will collaborate with Physicians and Care Coordinators for care plan and discharge updates. You will be the driver of care and will determine discharge status, work autonomously and independently. This position will provide you the opportunity to use your strong critical thinking and communication skills. You will need to be self-driven and possess strong time management skills to be successful in this position.

Responsibilities:

  • Accountable for utilizing the nursing process.
  • Performing patient care
  • Delegating patient care tasks and supervision of other patient care staff.
  • Coordinating the plan of care for a group of assigned patients and consulting with other members of the health care team when indicated to ensure optimal patient outcomes. This clinical nurse demonstrates proficiency and abides by policies rules guidelines and procedures.
  • Demonstrates proficiency and abides by policies, rules, guidelines and procedures.
