The nationally prominent Saint Luke’s Marion Bloch Neurosciences Institute (SLMBNI) is seeking a fellowship-trained neurosurgeon in open cerebrovascular neurosurgery, or both open and endovascular cerebrovascular neurosurgery, from a prestigious institution to join the comprehensive cerebrovascular neuroscience program at Saint Luke’s Hospital of Kansas City. Saint Luke's Hospital is a 482-bed hospital located in the beautiful Country Club Plaza district in Kansas City. It is the flagship hospital of locally owned and operated Saint Luke’s Health System, the 3rd largest private employer in the Kansas City area, which is comprised of 16 leading hospitals, 1,305 licensed beds, and numerous primary and specialty clinics throughout the region. The position is available to start in 2021.

Saint Luke’s Hospital is a Comprehensive Stroke Center certified by the state of Missouri as a Level 1 Time Critical Diagnosis Stroke Center with over 1,500 cerebrovascular patients treated annually by SLMBNI providers. Saint Luke’s Hospital and SLMBNI are supported by an 18-bed neuro-intensive care unit with 24/7 intensivist coverage.

SLMBNI has recruited and developed a team of exceptionally trained neurosurgeons, neuro-interventional radiologists, neuro-interventional neurologists, and vascular neurologists with the goal of creating one of the finest cerebrovascular programs in the country. The providers participate in weekly multidisciplinary case conferences, as well as collaborate on evidence-based practice initiatives to enhance the management and care of patients with cerebrovascular disorders throughout the health system. Several of the neurosurgeons in the practice have subspecialty interests and have developed multidisciplinary programs to enhance the quality of care. Academic appointments are available at the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine, where there are excellent opportunities for research and publication. In 2013, SLMBNI relocated to a dedicated Saint Luke’s Neurosciences Institute patient tower as a result of a $32 million expansion and renovation of the hospital campus.
