Job Description​

Our Thoracic Center is seeking a RN to join our team. The navigator will work in a multidisciplinary clinic, collaborating with several different specialists (thoracic surgeons, pulmonary physicians, medical oncology, radiation oncology) to provide plans of care for patients. This position will act as the coordinator for the clinic; you must be detail-oriented and take ownership of your role to ensure tasks are completed in a timely fashion. The ideal candidate will be autonomous, independent, able to multi-task, and confident when communicating with a diverse group of providers and patients. Candidates with oncology or thoracic background are strongly preferred. The entire job description is below.

The Patient Care Navigator will lead patients through their diagnosis ensuring timely services and communicate and collaborates coordinating care with primary care physician. The patient navigator will meet with patient and families to provide education and guidance after appointment. The nurse will provide medical information education and review pathology reports and be knowledgeable of community resources. Will be responsible for facilitating rapid scheduling and tracking patients to ensure recommended treatment plan. Research create develop implement and evaluate the role of patient navigator in an ongoing fashion to maintain high quality and customer service. Provides support to clinic nurse roles and maintains additional job functions in ambulatory.

KS & MO RN License required; if the ideal candidate does not possess dual licensure at time of offer, he/she may be given an offer contingent upon completion of dual licensure within 90 days of start.

2 years

Basic Life Support - American Heart Association or Red Cross, Registered Nurse (KS) - National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NURSYS), Registered Nurse (MO) - National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NURSYS)

Bachelor's Degree (Required)
