Payroll Systems Coordinator

Job Description​

The Payroll System Coordinator works in a team environment ensuring all Health System employees’ payroll is timely and accurate; and regulatory and organizational requirements regarding the payment of employee wages are met.   Performs tasks to establish and maintain employee/payroll records. Coordinate and execute the payroll compute process for payroll cycles.   Responsible for processing spreadsheets from functional areas for various payments, benefit adjustments, point of service deduction and reoccurring deductions for charity.  Works with benefit department in processing benefit adjustments involving self- payments and catch up payments.  Maintain arrearage reports and make necessary adjustments and review to ensure employee level deductions are updated based upon adjustment from Benefit Department.  Works closely with the Retirement department to process educational assistance payments and  403B loan deductions.   Review reports from integrations between the systems to ensure issues are resolved prior to processing.  Responsible for completely and settling off cycles and replacement checks.  Responsible to review transferred and terminated employees for benefit and point of service deductions that are in arrears.  Collaborates with payroll management, payroll staff to identify and implement process improvements in the department.   Recommends system modifications  as necessary.    Involved with bi-annual testing and weekly updates (if appropriate).    Resolve moderate to complex payroll system problems while working with HRIS and IT to resolve complex issues.   Responsible for  payroll department process documentation and provide key support to the department in training of new processes, new functionality, cross-train and new hire departmental training.
