Job Description
The Opportunity:
We are hiring a Registered Dietitian for our system float pool. This position will float between all 4 metro hospitals. These locations are at the Plaza, Lee's Summit, North Kansas City and Overland Park. Position may also float to Crittenton Children's Center.
The Shift:
This is a day shift position working 3 days one week and 2 days the other week.
The hours are 8 to 4:30
Position will support on call weekends and holiday rotation for Saint Luke's North.
The Work:
The Registered Dietitian is the nutrition professional that develops and oversees the implementation of nutrition interventions/prescriptions for patients nutrition diagnosis.
This Registered Dietitian is housed in the float pool cost center, but reports to the Clinical Nutrition Manager. This position is required to float to four or more entities.
Demonstrates Proficiency in Standards of Practice (Nutrition Assessment, Nutrition Diagnosis, Nutrition Intervention/Plan of Care and Nutrition Monitoring and Evaluation.
Demonstrates Proficiency in Standards of Professional Performance (Quality In Practice, Competency/Accountability, Provisions of Services, Application of Research, Communication and Applications of Knowledge and Utilization and Management of Resources).
Uses Nutrition Care Process (NCP) ADIME-assessment, diagnosis, intervention, monitoring and evaluation for patient's nutritional assessment.
Performs Nutrition Focused Physical Exam (NFPE) and documenting clinical criteria to demonstrate patients with malnutrition.
Collaborates with other members of the healthcare team regarding patients nutrition plan of care.
Completes yearly department competency and other performance improvement projects as assigned.
Uses Evidence Based Practice in patient care.
Serves as a preceptor to dietetic interns.
