Registered Dietician - PRN

The Opportunity:

Saint Luke’s Crittenton Children’s Center in South Kansas City, MO is seeking a Registered Dietician – PRN to join our team.

The Registered Dietitian is the nutrition professional that develops and oversees the implementation of nutrition interventions/prescriptions for patients nutrition diagnosis.    

Crittenton Children's Center is the Kansas City area's premier provider of psychiatric care for children, adolescents and their families. This location is Magnet designated and uses evidence-based therapies to help children learn to regulate their emotions, build communication skills, and develop lifelong strategies for resilience and strength. For more than 150 years we've cared for the emotional health of Kansas City's children and families. Today, Crittenton offers one of the area's most comprehensive behavioral health care programs.

Shift Details: PRN, work as needed by the department. Provides clinical nutrition/support coverage for our full time Registered Dietician when they are out of the office. Hours would be 8 am – 4:30 pm, Monday – Friday.

The Work:

  • Demonstrates Proficiency in Standards of Practice (Nutrition Assessment, Nutrition Diagnosis, Nutrition Intervention/Plan of Care and Nutrition Monitoring and Evaluation.   

  • Demonstrates Proficiency in Standards of Professional Performance (Quality In Practice, Competency/Accountability, Provisions of Services, Application of Research, Communication and Applications of Knowledge and Utilization and Management of Resources).

  • Uses Nutrition Care Process (NCP) ADIME-assessment, diagnosis, intervention, monitoring and evaluation for patient's nutritional assessment

  • Perform Nutrition Focused Physical Exam (NFPE) and documenting clinical criteria to demonstrate patients with malnutrition

  • Collaborate  with other members of the healthcare team regarding patients nutrition plan of care

  • Complete yearly department competency and other performance improvement projects as assigned.

  • Uses Evidence Based Practice in patient care

  • Serve as a preceptor to dietetic interns 

This is a very collaborative team that helps each other and shares knowledge with one another. They are dedicated to our patients. We are seeking a Registered Dietician PRN who is flexible, adaptable, collaborative, and is a team player.
