Job Description​

  • This position is located at our Plaza location in Kansas City, MO. This location is a Magnet designated facility and a leader in Academic Medical Centers. In the Cardiovascular OR the RN is accountable for utilizing the nursing process to care for cardiovascular surgical patients within the operating room setting in collaboration with the multi-disciplinary team. RN is responsible for delegation of patient care tasks and for supervision of other patient care staff; shares in department on call responsibilities. This position requires RN's to learn to circulate and scrub all operative procedures in Cardiovascular OR.  Procedures include cardiovascular, thoracic, and vascular. Cardiovascular OR will teach required skills for circulating and scrubbing cardiovascular, thoracic, and vascular procedures.

    Responsibilities:

    • Accountable for utilizing the nursing process.
    • Responsible for performing patient care delegating patient care tasks and for supervision of other patient care staff.
    • Responsible for coordinating the plan of care for a group of assigned patients and consulting with other members of the health care team when indicated to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
    • This clinical nurse demonstrates proficiency and abides by policies rules guidelines and procedures.
