Job Description​

The SLPG Staffing Analyst is responsible for ensuring that clinical support staff are deployed to meet daily patient needs. This includes utilizing scheduling software to monitor support staff and provider absences to both redeploy clinic staff and deploy float pool staff.  The SLPG Staffing Analyst will serve as the subject matter expert for the scheduling software and will coordinate its functioning with other relevant departments and provide education to users.  In addition, the SLPG Staffing Analyst will perform data analysis to optimize clinical support staff deployment.

  • Provides analysis of census and staffing data to create predictive models and reports for managing staffing levels.

  • Will monitor census and staffing levels throughout SLPG Clinics and Float Pool providing information to the SLPG Leadership, Practice Managers, and Business Supervisors to coordinate resource utilization.

  • Provides detailed unfilled shift data analysis consultation support and both long and short term recommendations regarding FTEs needed agency staff need or usage staffing incentive application payroll and scheduling.

  • Designs and compiles reports to be used for developing staffing budgets and monitoring performance to staffing targets.

  • Identifies areas of financial waste recommends and or implements new processes for accountability and efficiency.

  • Responsibility for planning, testing, education, and implementation for staff scheduling applications.

  • Works closely with IT staff to maintain and or improve the scheduling and time keeping system.

  • Coordinates and performs scheduling and timekeeping functions for SLPG Float Pool Staff across the Saint Luke’s Physician Group including staff deployment, correspondence, schedule coverage, schedule changes, timekeeping maintenance and other miscellaneous activities as needed.

  • Ensures that clinic staff schedules are balanced.

  • Performs audits of schedules to ensure hours/shifts align with Float Pool staff requirements.

  • Addresses timekeeping discrepancies within Kronos.

  • Creates supports and maintains the data integrity of the Kronos scheduling and timekeeping application.

  • Serves as a resource to users of the Avantas Smart Square system providing information training and problem solving services.

  • Additionally configures and runs scheduled and ad hoc informational and analytical reports for users of the system.

  • Ensures optimal use of clinical staff in order to provide high quality and cost effective care.

  • Collaborates with Practice Managers, Business & Clinical Supervisors regarding staffing and scheduling so that issues can be resolved in a pro-active manner.

  • Assigns centralized float pool staff on a daily basis according to standards.

  • Receives and records call-ins and adjusts staffing accordingly. Communicates any observed issues with Practice Manager, Business Supervisors and Clinical Supervisors if it appears office staff will have difficulty filling unfilled shifts.

  • Manages timecards and payroll for the Float Pool staff.

  • Other duties as assigned.
