Supervisor Nutrition Services  

Saint Luke’s Hospital – Plaza Location  

Fulltime Position 

The Opportunity:  

Saint Luke’s Hospital, our Plaza location, is seeking a Supervisor Nutrition Services. Your experience and expertise in Food Services will allow you to successfully serve a diverse population of customers. Our priority is patient care in that we interact with patients daily and have the opportunity to bring something positive to their day to ensure Saint Luke’s is “The Best Place To Get Care, The Best Place To Give Care.”

Shift Details: 

  • Salaried Full-time position 

  • Work week is Monday to Friday & rotating weekends (every third weekend) 

  • Shift times will vary. 

  • Possible shift time examples - 5:30am to 2:00pm or 7:30am to 4:00pm or 12:30pm to 9:00pm.  

  • Primary shift will be 7:30am to 4:00pm.  

  • This position is also responsible for covering the Room Service Supervisors. Those shift times are 5:30am to 2:00pm or 12:30pm to 9:00pm. 

  • This position may also cover for their Nutrition Care Technicians. That shift time is 6:15am to 6:45pm. 

  • Rotating holidays 

The Work:     

  • Responsible for all room service operations that provide products and services to patients. 

  • Provides direct supervision to Nutrition Care Technicians and the Call Center where computer and phone skills are utilized. 

  • Utilizes several software programs related to patient care, meal ordering, call center operations, and employee management. 

  • Works closely with other facilities in the system to ensure standardized approaches are utilized for call center operations. 

  • Ensures menus and food products comply with federal state local regulations as well as doctors diet restrictions. 

  • Assists with the menu development to ensure quality service and all nutritional standards are met. 

  • Provides leadership training and direction to the entire Patient Services team, this includes production and utility in the absence of their direct supervisors. 

  • Provides excellent customer service with the ability to provide service recovery as needed. 

  • Ensures all safety and sanitation requirements are met. 

  • Delegates and directs duties to supporting staff. 

  • Assists in hiring staff, manages employees to set standards, trains, and coaches for improvement. 

  • Responsible for staff schedules and ensures labor hours and assignments are appropriate for volume needs.  

  • Responsible for filling in for staff shortages as needed. 

  • Educates team and adheres to policies, procedures, standards and regulations.

Responsible for the successful daily operation of the NS department. Manages staff to achieve stated objectives in revenue expenses employee retention guest service food quality cleanliness and sanitation. Has input in budgets, business plans and strategic initiatives. Is involved with interviewing hiring training motivating and the performance management of employees. Works with staff to meet food safety and sanitation standards. Ensures timely service. Involved with ordering and receiving of items while maintaining a cost-effective inventory. Completes month end procedures and statistical reports. Maintains the department schedule. Helps develop menus. Responsible for proper planning coordination delivery and billing of catered activities. May fill in for staff as needed. Handles customer complaints. Is professional and administers policies in a prompt, fair and consistent manner. Educates team and adheres to policies procedures, standards and regulations.
