Job Description​

The Opportunity:

Saint Luke’s East Hospital in Lee’s Summit is seeking a Medical Surgical Registered Nurse for their new Medical Observation Unit. The Virtual Nurse Program is a new collaborative team model, that will allow experienced Med/Surg Nurses to work virtually with a care team at the bedside. You will be supported by leading technology while working in an innovative virtual environment.

This is not a remote/work from home position. The Virtual Nurse positions will be located at the Technology Campus in Lees Summit.

The Work:

• Have electronic oversight of the patients on the unit
• Assist the primary nurse in chart review, patient education, and coordination of care
• Help with many delegated communications with care team and families
• Responsible for patient advocacy, prevention, telecommunication, proactive continuous monitoring, evidenced-based care, clinical decision support and humane compassionate and ethical care
• Identify early signs of a possible issue, address it, and reduce complications in this population
• Partner with bedside staff to address any concerns or changes in assigned patient’s condition
