Saint Luke’s Health System Nursing Assistant Training Program is now accepting applications for its Non-Certified Nursing Assistant positions. This is a great opportunity for non-certified nursing assistants/patient care techs with experience. We are providing a longer training period so candidates with no healthcare experience looking for a career as a nursing assistant can also apply.
As part of your orientation you will go through a six-week program – which offers paid training, as well as an hourly wage. This provides a chance at a new career for individuals seeking an entry-level position in health care as a nursing assistant, and an opportunity to make a difference. The six-week program is part of a blended approach to learning, which contains didactic training, eLearnings, simulation and clinical experience. Requirement to work full time hours during the first 6 weeks.
Weeks one and two will be in-person classroom-based training. Weeks three and four will consist of clinical time spent at a SLHS hospital on designated units with a clinical instructor. Weeks five and six will be spent on their home unit, finalizing competencies and orientation with a success coach.
After training, nursing assistants will work either Day Shift Hours 6:45 AM - 7:45 PM or Night Shift Hours 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM. There is also weekend and holiday requirements.
