Saint Luke’s East is Stroke and STEMI Certified and is recognized by the American Heart Association for its Stroke and STEMI Outcomes. As a Critical Response Nurse, you will be part of this nationally recognized team and will support the ICU, ED, and other areas of the hospital. You will respond to critical situations in all areas of the hospital including; code blue, stroke, STEMI, rapid response, crisis intervention, vascular access, ultrasound IVs, critical care patient transport, and more. You will assist with nurse education and ensure our nursing teams are continuously improving.
Shift Details: Full Time Nights
The Work:
Utilize the nursing process to provide Critical Care support across the entire Saint Luke’s East Hospital. This may include, but not limited to; Code Blues, Strokes, STEMI, Rapid Responses, Crisis Interventions, Vascular Access, Ultrasound IVs, Critical Care Patient Transports, Proning, Balloon Pump Management, and Post Code Hyperthermia Protocols, moderate sedation procedure management.
Perform rounding and education on all units within the hospital.
Functions independently and accountable for utilizing the nursing process.
Coordinates the care for a group of patients with the Multidisciplinary Team.
Delegates tasks appropriately.
Identifies hospital resources and performs resource planning.
Serves as a clinical resource for new and current employees.
Demonstrates positive formal or informal leadership within unit or department.
Serves as a hospital resource for the most acute patients.
ACLS required but can be obtained after hire.
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.
Additional Responsibilities:
Performs patient care, delegates patient care tasks, and supervises patient care staff.
Demonstrates proficiency and abides by policies rules guidelines and procedures.
Completes thorough assessments, performs medication administration, develops a holistic plan of care, drain management, post-procedural or post-operative management.
Expected to complete tasks timely, including charting, making patient care the number one priority in a teamwork setting and having excellent communication skills and a compassionate heart.
