As the spring sports season begins in schools, doctors urge student-athletes who have had COVID-19 to get a full physical exam before returning to play.

KMBC talked to Dr. Kevin Munger, a family and sports medicine physician with Saint Luke's Primary Care-Blue Springs, about the lasting effects the virus can leave that could be dangerous if undetected.

Athletes can schedule a physical at any of Saint Luke's Primary Care locations or walk in without an appointment at any one of Saint Luke's Convenient Care locations across the metro.
