Grow Your Career at Saint Luke's

Saint Luke’s is committed to building the best nursing staff possible. If you are a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or have six months of experience as a nursing assistant or patient care tech, let us find a place for you.

We welcome people who are new to the field and interested in starting their careers in health care. We are now offering a six-week full-time, paid training program to prepare you for a Nursing Assistant career.

Wherever you are in your career, you'll be positioned for success at Saint Luke's, working in a collaborative environment with professional, experienced staff.

As a Saint Luke’s nursing assistant, you can expect:

  • Competitive pay and benefits, commensurate with qualifications and experience
  • Partnering with nursing and CNA preceptors to help you grow confident in your area
  • Opportunities to enhance your hands-on clinical skills and advance your career

What Does a Nursing Assistant Do?

Nursing assistants are invaluable to the patient experience. You’ll be responsible for providing direct and indirect care, while meeting patients’ needs. Responsibilities include:

  • Assisting patients with daily living tasks such as feeding, bathing, and moving around
  • Collaborating with other health care team members to personalize and enhance a patient’s care plan
  • Responding to and anticipating the needs of a patient’s family members

On-the-Job Training

Saint Luke’s has developed a full-time, six-week paid training program to equip entry-level nursing assistants with the knowledge and skills they need for the job. The program encompasses both classroom work and hands-on training at Saint Luke’s hospitals, culminating in full, supervised shifts. No college degree is required.

Note: This program is not designed to prepare students to sit for a certified nursing assistant (CNA) exam, but will prepare them for jobs within Saint Luke’s that do not require certification. Learn more about our nursing assistant training program (PDF).

Education Assistance Program

Continuing education is vital at all levels of health care. Through the Saint Luke’s Educational Assistance Program, we offer generous support for continuing education costs. Employees can receive reimbursement for tuition, enrollment and registration fees, and required books or other materials for:

  • Seminars/webinars
  • Conferences, symposiums, and workshops
  • Approved healthcare-related coursework

Career Navigators

From the start, you’ll have access to a Career Navigator who will work with you to help you discover your strengths and develop a plan for success during your career with Saint Luke’s.
