Job Description​

The Opportunity:

Nurses on Progressive Care Units will provide care to patients with various conditions, treatments, care plans, and acuity levels. These units are ICU Step Down units, taking patients from all of the ICUs at Saint Luke’s Hospital. You will provide support and education for both the patients and their loved ones.

This team supports patients after various procedures, including leading valve procedures. This team is always willing help one another. Teamwork is key on this unit. This team has supportive leadership that will help support you in your career growth; the team believes in knowledge sharing and helping each other learn and grow. Joining one of our PCU Units is a great opportunity to expand your skills and provide complex care to patients.

The Work:

• Accountable for utilizing the nursing process, safety and efficiency

• Care of the patient in the intra-operative phase of care

• Delegates patient care tasks and for supervision of other patient care staff

• Responsible for coordinating the plan of care for a group of assigned patients

• Consults with other members of the health care team when indicated to ensure optimal patient outcomes

• Demonstrates proficiency and abides by policies rules guidelines and procedures
